Sonia Jia
Based on her own experience, Sonia’s creations depict the intimate relationships such as family and friendship through a delicate perspective. For the artist herself, the work is more like a dairy book, recording the changes of each period and the feeling of the surrounding environment. Influenced by Bataille’s theory, Sonia gave meaning to many so-called meaningless moments and mutually separated events in life and events in life and remained them in her works as an eternal existence. Although the picture is abstract, it combines colors and flowing lines, as well as hidden figures, familiar things, et cetera. Viewers can appreciate some delicate emotions and fetters in the paintings based on their own feelings.

The mediums of Sonia’s works are diverse. Starting from painting, it extends to other media to make the audience feel the content expressed by the work in multiple dimensions. This creative method is also attribute to the artist’s study background, strengthening the theme of her works in the experiment of different media, and also as a way to understanding herself and the world. Therefore, although the artist’s artworks are abstract, they always convey strong emotions to the outside world with the warmth.
