Cub_ism_ Artspace is pleased to present artist Ni Hao's solo exhibition, “Roaming in the Paracosm” which runs from December 28, 2024 to February 22, 2025 and features over 15 paintings and sculptures.
Each of the works in this exhibition contains the artist's deep inner emotions and his unique perspective on the world. These works not only demonstrate the artist's freedom of pictorial expression and his in-depth thoughts on human relationships, but also introduce the viewer to a visual world full of dynamism and emotional tension through the use of highly saturated colors and large canvas sizes. The use of bright and bold color language breaks with traditional forms of expression, no longer simply piling up colors - they serve as a carrier of emotional flows, vividly demonstrating Ni Hao's pursuit of freedom and his inner passion.
The exhibition includes a series of richly colored works created by the artist in recent years – “Animals and People”, “Movies” and some metaphorical “Fictional Stories”. Each series explores the artist's thoughts on a different theme, revealing his concern for the spirituality of nature, human relationships, and the border between fiction and reality. The transformation and growth of the artist's thoughts during the creative process become traces of his personal experience left on the canvas, revealing his unique insights into daily life events and the hidden social reality behind them through his unique visual style.
Throughout the process of the artist's creation, each piece of work is the result of his continuous experimentation, covering and re-creating. Instead of pursuing perfection in the traditional sense, he chooses a freer way of creation, trying to break through the inherent boundaries of art and exploring the infinite possibilities of expression. Just as in art history, Impressionist artists broke through traditional painting techniques by capturing instantaneous changes in light and shadow and color, or Post-Impressionist artists opened up the space of painting expression with more personalized colors and brushstrokes. The works in this exhibition also demonstrate the artist's new exploration of the medium of painting. The colors on the canvas are the result of his keen perception of the flow of the moment, which gives life to the works, thus presenting rich layers of emotional changes.
Through this groundbreaking, freewheeling approach to creation, the artist breaks the boundaries of traditional artistic frameworks and embarks on an exploration of the infinite possibilities between color and art form. His works invite the viewer to experience this freedom and diversity together. The metaphors he lays down in his paintings also make these works go beyond the superficial form, allowing people to delve into the artist's spiritual world when viewing them, and receive profound thoughts on freedom, emotion and life, thus “Roaming in the Paracosm” together with the artist.
