Cub_ism_ Artspace is pleased to announce our OFF-SITE Gallery Project SITE SITE, with its inaugural exhibition OUT OF PLACE: THE GLORY RESIDENCY which is held from 20 to 27 June in London.

 

As a Focused, Flowing and Ongoing Curatorial Project, SITE SITE presents exhibitions focusing on ‘site-specific’ in different cities.

 

“It is the truth, my friend.

 

When all realities/fictions dissolve, what remains is what endures.

 

I have left no traces. Anyone could leave traces, yet here, no one leaves any.

 

This is not an exhibition, it is a fake residency.

 

A fictional application, fictional residency informations, a fictional apartment, a fictional theme.

 

And a non-existent selection of works.

 

This is a challenge to an authority that never truly existed.”

SITE SITE by Cub_ism_ Artspace can execute a project in any city, within any venue, and through any format — even a fictional one — that effectively engages its audience. The project itself serves as a self-reflexive critique of the gallery as a commercial institution. While the gallery retains management of the space and selection of artists, the role of the 'authority' remains both the originator of events and the subject of scrutiny. This constitutes a paradox of functional operation, as well as a deliberately playful provocation.​​
